Idea for Alarm Clock with Automatic Advance
Why doesn't someone invent an alarm
clock that would automatically advance the clock wake up signal if there were
adverse weather conditions? Example - The alarm goes off 15 minutes early
because of bad weather.
I did some brief searching on the
Internet and did not find much. Here is the search string I used - (alarm-clock
(inclement OR bad OR adverse)-weather).
In my searching, I found a mobile
phone app that has this feature but has limitations, mostly that the phone has
to be "on".
Why can't someone make a regular
alarm clock I could get at the local store to do this?
To make this scheme work, the local
radio station could send an extra signal on their carrier wave to alert of bad
weather conditions. This alert could be in the form of severity index.
Example
- The station would send a "one" signal for light snow and a
"ten" signal for heavy snow.
I suppose an Internet Weather
Service could do this too, but I like the idea of a weather person determining
the local severity index.
The user could adjust the clock
profile to pre-program how much extra time to give for each event. Example -
One driver may need more time for a few inches of snow than another driver may.
For more information, use search
string above.
Also, see USPTO Class/Subclasses for "How-To" ideas -
340/825, 368/10. Existing concepts for alarm clocks, weather radios, TV
information feeds, cable TV feeds, weather monitors, etc. might give you
invention building blocks.
